According to John Battelle, founder and CEO of Federated Media, social media provides “branded content,” while search engines provide information. “Branded content, however, is far more social [than content mills like Demand Media’s] because branded content is written with a human voice and published by a branded entity [you, a friend, campaign, cause, company,brand, etc.].

Having said that, what are the best platforms for both creating content and measuring the results? In Social Media Analytics I put forward a way to look at platforms, processes and people to help you decide what is the right approach for your business in regards to Social Listening. This webinar with Awareness, based on my book and extending the material, examines what are essential differences between platforms used for content creation and engagement.

In Social Media Analytics I posited the viewpoint that “The Medium is the Message”, the choice of platforms, process and people, along with strategy, informs and determines the results your going to end up with by doing social media outreach and publishing.
